Eater wrote last night saying Nick Morgenstern, pastry chef at Gilt and one of the city’s most admired dessert cooks, had been fired and possibly not even alerted yet. Morgenstern confirms he was sacked but tells us he found out yesterday morning. Strange move: The chef’s desserts are brilliant and accessible, complementing Chris Lee’s dishes well.
