The New Cold War: The Battle for Bleecker Street

Fro-Yo in West Village

Pinkberry and Red Mango on Bleecker Street.Image: Google Maps

Red Mango and Pinkberry, not content to battle each other in Flushing, are skirmishing on the streets of the West Village. Red Mango will soon open at 182 Bleecker, only 56 feet from the already-open Pinkberry at 179 Bleecker. The lines outside of Magnolia Bakery may appear reasonable and tame compared to the fro-yo absurdity a few blocks to the south. Will a Brooklyn front be next to open? Let us know if you see any suspicious yogurt activity in your neighborhood. Ever vigilant! —Aileen Gallagher
