Boston boy Todd English tells us he has just inked a deal to install a restaurant in the Thompson Hotel Groups Wall Street project, Gild Hall, which should open at 15 Gold Street (formerly a Holiday Inn) sometime in the spring. No name fixed just yet, but the first floor will feature a raw bar and a menu of what English calls (asking us to forgive the pun) modern English comfort food, emphasizing protein on the plate. The design will be what English describes as cleaner Ralph Lauren with a small, clubby library upstairs intended for business lunches. Michael Crain, exec chef at Todd Englishs Olives NY, plans to install a chef from within the company. English declined to comment on another project at 98 Kenmare with Joe Vicari because a deal hasnt been inked. But we did see plywood up there the other day.
