When Rob and Robin told us that buttermilk batter-fried chicken would be served at Buttermilk Channel, we suspected, given the current trend, that they’d be paired with waffles. Sure enough, a look at the menu confirms it: Cheddar waffles, in fact. According to a Metromix Q&A with chef Ryan Angulo, they’re a variation of the ones he served at Stanton Social. Owner Doug Crowell, who was a GM at Blue Water Grill before going solo here, tells us a brunch menu is in the works, and lunch may eventually follow. Buttermilk biscuits seem inevitable — and so the biscuit trend continues?
