A couple of new developments for those who want to get up close and personal with chefs — Bloomingdale Road has launched a chef’s table where Ed Witt will be serving a $55 six-course dinner made of whatever ingredients he has sourced from local markets and farmers (wine pairings will start at $40). Next week, the communal table will be available for reservations Tuesday through Thursday, and starting the week after that, Tuesday through Saturday. Meanwhile, if you’re really looking to splurge, Laurent Tourondel is hosting, for the first time, a $300 six-course wild-game dinner at BLT Market on November 17, featuring wild and farm-raised game from D’Artagnan. For the occasion, Tourondel has invited his father, Marc, to prepare a hare “civet” with salsify, Brussels sprouts, chestnut fricassee and celery-root purée. The rest of the menu is available here in a PDF, and if you’d like to get a sense of what Ed Witt is serving, his Election Day menu follows.
