First Look: Inside the John Dory
Photo: Melissa Hom
Tables were tough when we tried the John Dory the other day (we were told nothing till December), but it seems the crush has eased up (or maybe we just got a nicer reservationist): Earlier, there were 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. two-tops available for tonight. We showed you the opening menu before, and A Hungry Girl has a report from friends and family, including a photo of the namesake dish and praise for the grilled rib eye with a smoked oyster and bone-marrow sauce (apparently Joe Bastianich’s favorite). Now, here is a look inside. Behind the much-ballyhooed fish tank, there’s a smaller room that we suspect will be to the Dory what the back corner of the Spotted Pig’s upstairs room is to that establishment (which is to say, move over if you see Jay-Z coming). Ladies and gentlemen, if you’ve ever been to Pufferbellies on Cape Cod, you are going to love this place.
