The five-borough feast hosted by ecoartist and chef Jim Denevan earlier this month was documented as part of a video series (and commercial for vodka) called In an Absolut World. The short, “Cities Farm,” features commentary from truly local farmers, as well as dinner guest Mario Batali waxing lyrical about locavorism. If you’re so intrigued, you can get a taste of Queens County Farm Museum’s vegetables, honey, and herbs at the Union Square Greenmarket every Monday into the winter. But if you really want to see where your food is from, go to Floral Park on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We can attest that agricultural director Michael Robertson will put volunteers to work picking, washing, or packing stock for Monday’s market. E-mail him for more information.
