Governor Paterson’s aide Carl Andrews has resigned in the wake of an investigation to determine whether he applied “illegal pressure” to the SLA in order to get the authority to renew the Cipriani liquor license. Andrews says his departure from the $170,000-a-year post has nothing to do with the case, and that he’s starting a consulting and lobbying firm. [NYP]
