When we asked you to recommend your favorite wing joints and win a copy of the soon-to-be-published cookbook, Wings (assuming NYC Food Guy ends up agreeing with your suggestion), we knew wed get a lot of passionate responses. We got several votes for Dinosaurs wango tango wings, which of course are disqualified since that was Food Guys favorite to begin with. Herewith, the rest of your nominations. Well start with the most recommended a readers photo of them is shown here. We imagine itll take Food Guy a while to make the rounds, so now, with polling closed, we sit and wait.
Bonnies Grill (5 votes) Being originally from Buffalo I would guess that Ive bonded with Frank and Teresa's style/flavor. The hottest wings Ive found in the city My friend, who is no slouch when it comes to eating spicy foods, managed to get through three before quitting. Actual Buffalo NY owners (they also serve a mean beef on weck) so they know what theyre doing. Lotta heat, but a whole lot of flavor too.

Great Jones Caf (3)
Momofuku Noodle Bar (2)

Reservoir Bar (2) Definitely the best in NYC that I've ever had and probably the #3 on my top 5. The secret ingredient in all true buffalo wings is vinegar. Vinegar and hot sauce. Deep fried. Medium crispy.
The Firehouse (2) After moving to New York three years ago from Glens Falls, New York, a second mecca for good hot wings after Buffalo, NY, I started craving wings Even though unlike the upstate wing-world they don't serve wings in the traditional dozen (no one in NYC does, only 8 or 10), these spicy delights will stack up against any, I repeat, any wings in the city or state for that matter.
Croxley Ales (2) big, hot, perfectly cooked. And you can get them for $.10 a pop if you go at the right time.
Atomic Wings (2)
Dillingers Pub and Grill (2) on 47th St and 30th Ave in Astoria
1849 (2) These are real wings, not the puny bites other places pass off. The fact that they are 20 cents each on Sundays and have Yuengling on draft makes my little Pennsylvania heart sing.
Thunder Jacksons 5 star chef cooking bar food - UNBELIEVABLE.
200 Fifth Restaurant & Bar
Daddy-O Owned and ran by Rochester boys, so they do real buffalo wings proud. Doesn't hurt that they have Zweigel's hot dogs as well.

Walter Foods some of the best and most unique wings I've ever had - unique AND traditional "hot" tasting - the Chicken Wing Lolipops.
The Heights Bar & Grill

Tebaya my favorite except on my birthday, when the wings at the Dive Bar on Amsterdam and 97th are the best because they are free.
