EV Grieve writes with some surprise about the appearance of the Local 269, a new bar on Houston and Suffolk, but was pleased to see a two-for-one happy hour. Hmmm. That sounds a lot like the happy hour at Local 138, on Ludlow near Rivington. We just called Local 138 and asked if they had any affiliation with the Local 269. “No, not at all,” said the confused bartender. If you need two locals, now they’re within stumbling distance — only four-and-a-half blocks apart.
