Closings

Atria Is Latest to Close in Former Aquavit and Grayz Space

Atria, the post–Gray Kunz redo of Grayz, has closed, according to an e-mail blast sent to us by general manager Adam Landsman. You could’ve seen it coming if you were following Landsman’s Facebook updates: On April 25 he was “trying to find great people great jobs,” and yesterday he was “looking for people that need to rent a kitchen for catering.” Sad. “I’m sorry but the economy just took us out,” he tells Eater. As for Gray Kunz, he’s currently opening a restaurant in Hong Kong, but recently told Diner’s Journal he still has New York plans: “I haven’t given up on New York either … I have a team in place here and we think this is a good time to find a suitable space so I can reopen Cafe Gray, but I think it should be smaller, maybe 60 or 70 seats.” We’re thinking he won’t be coming back to this address.
