We started the day with news of a Hell’s Kitchen bar, so why not end it with news of another? Yesterday the Pony Bar tweeted: “Tomorrow, NYC Dept. of Building Gods willing, will be the day.” Now UrbanDaddy drops word that the beer bar is soft-opening tonight. The answering machine says it’s not currently open for business, so you might want to give them a ring at 212-586-2707 before galloping over to 637 Tenth Avenue at 45th Street. In the meantime, here’s what to expect: “The space — inspired by an old photo of Neil Young — is decked with an old canoe, the aforementioned Neil photo and a few equestrian knickknacks, and anchored by two large beer barrels that double as communal tables (and inspiration). Classic rock and Americana will be on the radio, there'll be some brats and sandwiches to keep you on your feet, and, best of all, you can pick up a growler of your favorite porter for your to-go pleasure.”
