Speaking of New York newcomers, a good many of them have honed their dining chops at Spice. Last week, the Thai chainlet opened an outpost near Astor Place. The room is a nice meld of industrial (gray walls, exposed pipes on the ceiling, metal-top tables) and organic (white wooden chairs, wood-slat walls, subway tiles, mosaic floors, even a mini-waterfall). The 60 seats are spread out over three communal tables, banquettes, and a small bar (no liquor license at the moment). Delivery is from Avenue B to Hudson Street and from Spring Street to 25th Street. The menu follows.
