The Standard Hotel’s restaurant won’t be opening until June 15 (according to a server), but in the meantime, the Living Room (the hotel’s lobby lounge with outdoor patio) has started serving what they’re calling “tastings” from chef Dan Silverman’s menu. These items might not necessarily carry over to the restaurant, but they’ll give you an idea of what’s coming out of the kitchen. By the way, after hearing a waitress describe the forthcoming “American bistro,” we really must entreat restaurateurs and reps to stop using “a great burger” as a hook. As enticing as that is, it’s kinda like being asked about your restaurant and responding, “It’s going to have a great Caesar salad … you get the idea … ” Okay, rant done.
