Long Island City’s Schaller & Weber is recalling approximately 564 pounds of kolbase sausage products and D’Artagnan duck-leg confit (the former is really going to put a damper on all the good publicity sausages have been getting). According to a release from the Food Safety and Inspection Service, they could be infected with Listeria monocytogenes, a rare condition resulting in high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea, and sometimes fatal infections. No cases have been found, but if you value your health, it might be wise to switch to foie gras for a while!
