The Cabanas at the Maritime Hotel is the latest to get into the outdoor-brunch game, starting this Saturday. A promoter’s e-mail reads: “Why do all the daytime New York brunch parties play euro house, hip-hop or pop music? Well, I know why ... maybe you do too, but we’re changing that at The Cabanas, we’re pushing the envelope to bring you music that is new, fresh and edgier. We have some great DJs and the best rock, electro, indie and classic tunes in store for you to make you feel great every Saturday afternoon!” The party goes from 1 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and the menu will apparently be a composite of dishes from La Bottega and Matsuri. What’s more, we hear the Sunday brunch (from 2 p.m. till 10 p.m.) will be a list-only affair. Confirmation on that, as well as the menu, when we get it.
