Last week we discovered that Über-rooftop 230 Fifth was getting into the alfresco brunch game, and now PR confirms it by sending over the menu as well as giving us details that the Champagne Party Brunch will be year-round, every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the rooftop, you see, is heated during the winter and apparently the place lends out robes). Clearly, 230 Fifth is trying to suck all other party brunches into its maw, because the menu is kind of ridiculous, complete with a calorific section “for skinny people,” a money-back guarantee on the matzoh brei, and dishes made with produce from an on-site garden. Elsewhere in the brunchiverse, Butcher Bay also starts brunch this weekend, and the menu is beautiful in its simplicity: chicken and waffles (yes!), biscuits and gravy (yes!), and a lobster salad with a fried egg on an English muffin (huh?).
