To send you into the weekend, here’s some refreshing news — for just a month, People’s Pops will sell local, seasonal Popsicles in Battery Park. Starting Monday, the pop-up will be across from 17 State Street, near Pearl Street, every weekday from 12:30 p.m. till supplies run out. The stand’s operators Nathalie Jordi, David Carrell, and Joel Horowitz are learning on the job (you can follow their adventures on their blog), so it’s uncertain how long it’ll take for the $3.50 pops to go (at Brooklyn Flea on Saturdays and Sundays, they only sell out when it’s sunny out). The debut lineup of flavors (which changes weekly, depending on what’s available at the markets) is fresh strawberry with a touch of rhubarb, fresh strawberry and organic cream, and super-sweet upstate rhubarb.
