Tempeh Tantrum
An old New York Diet subject, Claw Money, reports that her graffiti-artist compatriot Utah had trouble getting vegan food after she was caught and sent to Rikers (apparently it's even less vegetarian-friendly than Momofuku!): “She is starving b/c she is vegan. No tempeh on the island apparently.” Utah had to threaten a lawsuit before scoring soy milk. [Animal]
