First Look at Bistro Le Steak’s Venture Into Buffalo Wings and Flirtinis

After fourteen years of operating Upper East Side standby Bistro Le Steak, owner Nicki Jakupi has opened a sister establishment some twenty blocks south. It not only holds a 120-seat dining room offering the same menu (frogs’ legs Provençale, goat-cheese tartlets, etc.), but also a front lounge serving decidedly un-French items, priced from $6 to $9, such as buffalo wings, fish and chips, and California rolls and other sushi items. Until 2 a.m., loungers can also order martinis flavored with chocolate, apple, lychee (you get the idea — there’s also a “French flirtini” we were kind of scared to ask about). Jakupi tells us if all goes well, he’ll convert his private room into a second lounge. In the meantime, he’s also serving a $19 lunch of salad, steak, and fries. Take a look at the space, and the menu.
