Last night’s Community Board 2 SLA Licensing Committee meeting was an A-list affair, according to Eater. Among those greenlit: Joe Campanale will open a new wine bar and restaurant a couple of doors down from Dell’Anima, Stephen Hanson will serve “inexpensive light American fare” in the former Hog Pit space (meaning that between Vento and 675 Bar, he now pretty much owns the block), the operators of Butter will open a similar restaurant in the former Plumm space, and Jimmy Bradley of the Red Cat and the Harrison is doing a restaurant inside of the hotel at 153 Elizabeth. We’re surprised the owners of Butter had such an easy time — on the one hand, they trotted out Alexandra Guarnaschelli presumably to assure the CB that they aren’t opening another club (dirty word, sorry), but on the other hand, didn’t they also say Guarnaschelli would be serving food at their other place, 1Oak? Yeah, that never ended up happening. Then again, a restaurant with a basement lounge would be in keeping with the current trend, so we’re assuming this will be the real deal.
