Civetta Is Finally Serving in Nolita

A walk past Civetta confirms it finally opened last night. The SfogliaVia Quadronno spinoff’s opening date has been day-to-day for over a month; feel free to reacquaint yourself with the space and the menu before calling for reservations (they were able to squeeze us in for 8:15 p.m. tonight). Right now, until lunch starts, the restaurant is open from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and till 12:45 a.m. thereafter, and the downstairs lounge (possibly competition for La Esquina a few doors down?) is open till 1 a.m. early in the week and till 2 a.m. later on. Elsewhere in Little Italy–Nolita scenesterism: Goldbar’s doorman Jon Lennon tells BlackBook it’s all about the “vision of the room” and “the right people,” whether it’s “a couple of hoodlums” or “a whole table of hot girls,” and Guest of a Guest has it that Southside’s doorman Timothy Sheldon was let go after an altercation with a patron.
