Grimaldi’s Manhattan to Deliver, Sort Of

If you rent apartments based only on proximity to good pizza, you’ll have a lot in common with your neighbors at 200 Water Street. The former office building turned NYU dorm turned luxury rental is touting its relationship to the new Manhattan Grimaldi’s location at nearby 135 John St. as a major attraction. (Both buildings are owned by Rockrose Development Corp.) Grimaldi’s promises it will allow residents of 200 Water to bypass the line and — even more convenient — will deliver to the building for free. The new Grimaldi’s will take up three stories and have a rooftop dining area. Considering both the current condo glut and the citywide obsession with pizza, this may not be the only time food is paired with residential real estate.
