First Look at Permanent Brunch, Now Frying Artisanal Bacon

We’ve already given you the lowdown on Permanent Brunch, but here at long last is a look into the room. Zagat’s opening notice adds some more color: The soundtrack consist of eighties tunes such as “Take On Me” and “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” (actually, the restaurant’s website is currently playing Jenny Owen Youngs’s genius cover of “Hot in Herre”), and there’s a high-tech waiting system: “After patrons type their info into a kiosk, the seating order is displayed on an HD ‘chalkboard.’ If there’s a significant wait, the system will text your cell phone when a table opens up.” Totally beats the free-for-all at IHOP on a Sunday morning. Have a look inside.
