Philippe’s reps tell us they have nothing to say about Mr. Chow’s latest volley and are through giving statements about the lawsuit to print media, but we hear that they’ve gone to certain television networks to pitch the idea of a cook-off. So determined is Philippe Chow to prove he’s no mere vegetable chopper that he’s ready to challenge any Mr. Chow chef to a televised cooking competition. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the networks will actually go for the idea or whether anyone in Mr. Chow’s camp will sign on, but the gauntlet has officially been thrown down. We can already see Jennifer 8 Lee at the judge’s table, cracking open a fortune cookie to reveal the winner.
