FDA Plays Laser Tag With Vegetables

According to Slashfood, the FDA has approved the laser labeling of fruits and vegetables starting as early as late autumn. Slashfood goes into detail as to why the new form of labeling is perfectly safe and doesn’t affect flavor, but our concern is one of aesthetics. Sure, it’s kind of gross when one of those tiny labels on your apple leaves a sticky residue, but who the hell wants to eat a tattooed peach? And what’s next? Fruitvertising? We can already see Delta advertising flights to the Tomatina festival on an heirloom tomato. We’re all for the dude in Central Park writing our name on a grain of rice, but this is just too, too much.
