Temporary Closings

Fort Defiance Captured by Health Department

Photo: Hugh Merwin

St. John Frizell, owner of Fort Defiance, has just sent word that the café and cocktail joint was closed after a Health Department inspection on Friday. He has posted an explanation on the shutter (apparently, restaurants are required to have gas service if they have gas equipment, and Fort Defiance hadn’t yet turned on the gas). If you can’t read it above, it’s reprinted on Fort Defiance’s website. The good news: It will reopen with a menu that’s “bigger and better: Eggs in the morning, entrees and dessert at night, and more.”
