Crain’s reports that hundreds of union workers are set to picket outside of Tavern on the Green this afternoon, in protest of new operator Dean Poll’s contract demands. Poll’s lawyer is remaining firm: “That Tavern never renegotiated or sought concessions so they could stay in business was their problem, but it’s not going to become the problem of the new ownership.” Meanwhile, in another labor lawsuit, Eater reports that a judge has greenlit the case in which waiters of Masa (which is now hiring!) complain that they were forced to share the restaurant’s 20 percent mandatory tip with sushi chefs and other employees.
