Harlem’s Recette Moves Downtown

Chef Jesse Schenker of Recette, a private dining space in Harlem, plans to open a restaurant of the same name in December in the former Jarnac space on West 12th Street. Schenker cooked at Gordon Ramsey at the London when the restaurant earned two Michelin stars. The space? “Refined rustic,” said a rep. The food? “New American with French technique,” the chef explained. The details are few, but at least we know why Schenker moved south of Harlem: “Greenwich Village is the best. It’s where I live.”
