Those Gristedes growlers were clearly a ploy to keep up with Whole Foods, but now a beer purveyor that’s long been at the forefront of the microbrew trend, Boerum Hill’s Brazen Head, has added growlers to go. Here’s the deal, direct from the bar: “Bring in your own growler or buy one of ours. If you want to take home any of our tap beers or Cask Ales, we will fill a growler and you’ll get four pints for the price of three. So if a pint cost $6, your growler will cost you $18 plus the price of the growler.”
