Boqueria Reopens in Flatiron, But Down a Chef De Cuisine

Curious fact: While closed for renovations (it reopens tonight at 5 p.m.), Boqueria’s Flatiron location has put out a Craigslist ad in hopes of finding a new chef de cuisine. A rep assures us the job slot has nothing to do with the restaurant’s three-day closure. “The Chef de Cuisine decided to leave to pursue other opportunities and Seamus and crew are looking for someone to fill the position. Eager chefs interested in Spanish cuisine are welcome to apply!” Also hiring sous-chefs and higher are the Breslin, Soho House, Les Halles, the Momofuku group, Jean-Georges’s new Upper East Side restaurant, and (weee!) the Big Apple Circus. And while we’re on the subject, here’s something interesting about a Pulino’s job listing: Keith McNally and Nate Appleman’s restaurant-pizzeria is said to be opening this month. With the plywood still up (and Appleman making gerbil-stuffing jokes on Twitter), it’s hard to believe that will be the case, but regardless, it may be time for the blogs to commence their Minetta Tavern–style daily stalking.
