A couple of weeks after Steve Cuozzo broke news that former La Goulue partner Francois Latapie is taking over ownership of Greenwich Avenue fixture Café de Bruxelles after 30 years, Eater reports that it’s closed indefinitely owing to a basement fire. Latapie had planned to open a French restaurant in the space “by June” — one has to wonder whether the current owners will bother reopening before then.
