Here’s a reason to perk up this morning. Bravo has announced, via a press release, that Gail Simmons will host (that’s host, not judge) its second Top Chef spinoff, Just Desserts. No premiere date yet. As previously announced, she’ll also be a judge, along with Gael Greene, Jay Rayner, and James Oseland, on the second season of Top Chef Masters, which premieres April 7 at 11 p.m. and moves to its regular time slot on April 14 at 10 p.m. According to the release, “Top Chef Masters was Bravo’s highest rated first season competition show, averaging 1.53 million adults 18-49 and 2.22 million total viewers,” which may explain why Kelly Choi is also back as host. No word yet on who the master cheftestants will be.
