Up until now weve been loathe to use Restaurant.com for dining discounts while the site seems to have recently gotten a redesign, it used to be hideously laid out, and it was hard to find coupons for restaurants wed actually want to dine at, amid all the middling neighborhood spots. Plus, the editorial content is a little sketchy. For instance: Restaurant critics, neighborhood regulars, and first time visitors always agree about Lucy Browne's: the atmosphere is great, the food is superb, and the service is outstanding. Strange, we dont remember hearing much about Lucy Brownes from restaurant critics, but okay! In any case, Black Board Eats, a newsletter launched by former Yahoo! Food editor Maggie Nemser, is seemingly putting the quality of the discounts over the quantity. Todays inaugural deal gets you a whopping 30 percent off of dinner at the Harrison (sign up and you get a code that you can use at the restaurant within a month), and we hear that the next offer to hit in-boxes will be for 30 percent off of lunch at Il Buco. Not too shabby.
