Earlier today Steve Cuozzo checked in with three landmark restaurants that are currently in limbo (the Rainbow Room, Tavern on the Green, and the Plaza Palm Court) and put Tavern’s chances of reopening by March, as Dean Poll hopes, at zilch. Cuozzo points out that Poll hasn’t yet finalized a deal with the city, much less smoothed out issues with the union, though the city’s lawyer tells him “we are confident that an agreement will be finalized soon.” Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, previous operator Jennifer LeRoy is donating 2,000 pounds of fresh food and 2,000 pounds of dry goods (all left over from the restaurant’s run) to City Harvest.

Update: City Room has a look inside the preview of the Tavern on the Green auction.
