G’Day, Indeed: Tuck Shop Gets Beer and Wine

Up till now, we’ve had to make do pairing sausage rolls with coffee at Tuck Shop on St. Marks Place, but owner Niall Grant tells us he got his beer and wine license today and, in addition to selling James Boags, Coopers Pale Ale, Coopers Sparkling, and Coopers Stout for $6 a bottle, he’s also offering “eskies” (coolers of six!) for $30. Will the eskie be the new growler? Probably not, but Aussies nostalgic for Surfer’s Paradise parties now have a way to kill time while waiting for those piping-hot meat pies to come out of the oven (it’s the only way to eat ‘em).
