While the embattled Ray’s Candy Store raises funds via a benefit tonight, as well as from new T-shirts, the moribund Freddy’s Bar hosts what may be its last art show (last week it was given 30 days to vacate, but a press release for the art show trumpets “months to continue the fight, we will never die”, meaning a legal appeal may be in the works).

Meanwhile, a neighbor of Freddy’s, the ever-thriving Brazen Head, brings us better news: The beer bar just renewed its lease for ten years and plans to celebrate with an all-night happy hour and a performance by the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band on March 12. Mazel tov.
