Last year, Douglas Boxer told us he would open the largest location yet of his growing Rare Bar & Grill empire at the Fashion 26 hotel in the flatiron sometime in the fall. Well, the time has finally come. The rooftop bar, Rare View, won’t open till summer, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the 200-seat dining room, crowned with a branding iron-themed chandelier. When it opens April 12, it will serve breakfast from 6:30 a.m. till 11 a.m., lunch from noon till 4 p.m. on weekdays only, and dinner from 5 p.m. till midnight. Here now is the menu, including at least one new glamburger: A six-ounce rib-eye burger served on a truffle-buttered bun.
