Zigolinis Pizza Bar Adds Fire to Hell’s Kitchen

Thought Campo de’ Fiori would be the only new pizza place we’d tell you about today? Fuggedaboutit: The owners of the financial district’s Zigolinis just opened a sexy sister concept in Hell’s Kitchen. Partner Dalio Calado describes it as a “classic Neapolitan style pizza with a boutique bar,” and he says he’s hoping to open another one on the Upper West Side.

As for this location, the centerpiece of the dim-lit narrow space, which previously belonged to Orchid Carribean Soul Cuisine, is a communal table seating 40; at the back, additional seats look onto the pizza oven built by Giuseppe Paciullo, who learned his craft in Salerno. The oven is also being used to make panini al forno and, as the menu and hours expand (it’ll be another week before the full liquor license comes in and they start serving wines by the glass), it’ll bake pasta and the like. Here’s the current menu.
