Andrew Carmellini tells us that he launched a website today, and in addition to what you’d expect (demo videos as well as daily photos from the market, the kitchen, and the road), there’s an “Opening Soon” section that drops the following news: “I signed the lease for my second restaurant at 131 Sullivan Street, with my operating partners at Locanda Verde: Luke Ostrom and Josh Pickard.” May we suggest the site’s designer add a MIDI file of “Joy to the World” in the background?

Carmellini, who says he just inked a deal with HarperCollins for his second cookbook (it’ll be out in October), tells us he and his Locanda partners signed the lease at the old Cub Room space way back in November. The restaurant (no name released so far) will be designed by Roman & Williams, best known for their work on the Breslin. It opens in mid-September. All Carmellini will say about the concept is that it’s “not Italian,” so fellow Soho newcomer Michael White can rest easy.
