Landlord Puts Steak Shoppe (f.k.a. Permanent Brunch) Out of Its Misery

Buzzy underperformer Permanent Brunch morphed first into a “Brunch and Burger” joint and then into a “vintage natural beef” emporium (Lesly Bernard renamed it Steak Shoppe about a month ago), but it looks like neither concept was able to save it. A tipster has sent us a photo of a “Marshal’s Legal Possession” sticker indicating that the “landlord has legal possession of these premises pursuant to Warrant of Civil Court.” This isn’t the first time it’s been forcibly shuttered — back in December, the state plastered an orange sticker on its door owing to nonpayment of taxes. This time, the number has been disconnected, so another bounce back doesn’t seem likely.
