McDonald’s has canceled plans to give away free smoothies this week, “due to unprecedented demand,” according to Triangle Business Journal. Phooey! Is it too early to add this to the timeline of fast-food promotional disasters? Either way, if you’re desperate for a free smoothie this week, head to the Union Square location of Red Mango tomorrow between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.— founder Dan Kim will be doling out $1 smoothies as well as free swag including “smoothie passports” good for, you guessed it, free smoothies. Red Mango’s new line includes a “Healthy Bones” flavor that, we can only assume, is not actually made with ground bones.
