Life for the criminally underserved diners of Clinton Hill just keeps getting better. First Fulton Grand Bar opened, and now comes even more good news courtesy of the eagle-eyed storefront scouts at Brownstoner. A crperie and cocktail bar called Mango has moved in to 466 Grand Avenue, previously the home of Brown Betty.
Just a few blocks away, over on the edge of Fort Greene, the former L'Epicerie space will stay true to its French predecessor when it reopens soon as the "Paris-meets-Brooklyn" concept BaguetteAboudit. The caf likely wants to be known for its selection of fresh breads, soups, and salads, but earns its stripes in our book for topping Jehangir Mehta's Mehtaphor as the most painfully punning restaurant name of the second week of August 2010 a feat we had previously believed was impossible. Félicitations.
