Yoko Ono will present Michael Pollan with the Lennon Ono Grant for Peace this October, the Telegraph reports. The award, given biannually to individuals “chosen for their contribution to world peace,” will be presented at an Icelandic celebration of what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday. The ceremony will be preceded by a Plastic Ono Band performance and followed by the lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower, an illuminated memorial located on an island just offshore from Reykjavik. We’re sure Pollan had precisely this moment in mind while he was writing about Chicken McNuggets for The Omnivore’s Dilemma. [Telegraph UK]
