Hall PR updates us on Jehangir Mehta’s Graffiti follow-up: Turns out it’ll be called Mehtaphor and will be made up of “several intimate dining areas, including a dessert-cocktail bar, a tiny loungy dining area, a bar-bar, a time worn wooden communal table fully wired for laptops and internet access, and a lovely small dining room.” Also next month, Oak Room chef Eric Hara will, according to another Hall release, open a “forty seat modern global café in a light, Nordic design inspired setting” at 2802 31st Street in Astoria. The unnamed restaurant will boast 70 outdoor seats, as well as “barista specialties and contemporary American fare with global touches.” It’s uncertain whether Hara’s Jell-O shots will make an appearance.
