Good news for Italian-food addicts looking for a place to go between Lincoln reservations and Eataly expeditions: Osteria Morini officially opens on Monday, and it’s not too much to say that a mere glance at the fiendishly rich Emilia Romagnan–inspired menu can spike your cholesterol level.

Cured meat platters come with Romagnolo fry bread. The pasta e fagioli is flavored with pig’s feet. Calves brains get wrapped in prosciutto. Fresh egg pastas abound, and “fried” has its own category. As far as hearty ragus go, there’s a whole section of them including one made from sweetbreads and duck hearts. If all this sounds a bit much, know that chef Michael White’s mission (and, according to partner Chris Cannon, his particular gift) is to interpret authentic Italian flavors and presentation into a refined, accessible style uniquely his own. Breakfast and lunch may start as early as this weekend, for anyone who wants to get a head start on dinner. Check out the interiors in our slideshow, and the menu below.
