Speakeasy-‘Speakloudly’ Opens on Avenue B

Weekend warriors of the East Village, if you’re looking for a new party spot now that the return of Superdive hangs in the balance, you’re in luck: Idle Hands and Billy Hurricanes, the self-declared speakeasy-speakloudly combo that had hoped to open in the old Rehab/Midway/Scenic/Guernica/Save the Robots space back in May, has finally locked down a liquor license, and as of yesterday, it’s up and pouring. Now the upstairs Mardis Gras–themed bar (operated by the team behind Thunder Jackson’s) is serving a limited menu, and the downstairs bourbon and beer bar is still stocking its shelves, so you may want to wait till next week, when we’ll give you a look inside.

Idle Hands and Billy Hurricanes, 25 Avenue B, nr. 2nd St.
