Dallas BBQ Faces Potential Texas-Size Lawsuit

How does Dallas BBQ manage to charge less for its food and its Texas-size margs than Alec Baldwin pays for a cup of coffee? Watered-down drinks might not be the only answer: According to Crain’s, employees have filed a lawsuit against the restaurant for illegal tip pooling as well as failure to pay minimum wage and overtime. The suit could grow to cover around 500 current and former employees if it receives class-action certification. It’s the same old story, but there’s at least a nugget of non-legal news here: The chain that touched off a cataclysmic food-world debate last year is planning a new location in Rego Park, Queens, and another near Brooklyn College.
