Speaking of Doughnut Plant, its forthcoming Chelsea Hotel location has been held up by “drama,” reports owner Mark Israel. Since the building is a landmark and the hotel itself is up for sale, a lot of things are “out of my hands,” says Israel: “Everything has to be approved and re-approved and then blah blah blah, it’s not like you can go and do whatever you want. I wanted to open in September.. not gonna be in October… November is doubtful… December, I don’t know.” Hopefully we see it by Valentines, in time for some rose-petal doughnuts.
