In this week’s magazine, Adam Platt puts together his annual list of where to eat in the coming year — and it’s a monster. There’s a look at old-school-style Italian food; tasting menus; the rise of Portuguese cuisine; high-stakes openings; beef’s comeback; the glory of vegetables; food halls; Brooklyn’s Southern leanings; the best breakfasts; and gourmet sandwiches. But he doesn’t stop there.

Platt also rounds up the best new restaurants, cocktails, chefs, and desserts of the year. And, of course, there’s a list of all the things nobody needs to see in 2011.
